Like many others started singing in 1960 on the street corners of Brooklyn sharing harmonies with friends like Rudy and The Tradewinds – "Careless Love" (Angle Tone Records) 1962 and Reggie and The Remarkables – "The Year That Gave Me You" (Musicor Records) 1962. 

Alex sang and performed with many groups of the 1950’s and 60’s such as but not limited to: Mike Arnone and the Duprees, Jimmy Keyes and the Chords, Frank Tardongno and Jimmy Moschello Original members of The Elegants (The Originals), Joe Grier and The Charts, and best known for singing and recording with Norman Fox and the Robroys. During his involvement with the Rob-Roys, he participated in the WCBS-FM’s 20th Anniversary Concert at Radio City Music Hall and appeared with them at Westbury Music Fair    for a two night engagement. Alex Augustine’s determination in 1980 led him to singing and recording a group he formed known as “IMAGE which landed him a recording a 45 for Ronnie I’s Clifton Records in 1981 the songs “All Mine” w/”Over the Rainbow” and later a re-recording of “All Mine” Acapella version and “So Much” for Bob Kretzschmar’s Starlight Discs label in 1993.

 Two Recordings under Alex Augustine and IMAGE for Alden Records in 2003 and 2004.Alex Augustine then later reunited with Norman Fox and the Robroys at the Foxwoods Casino in January 2014. Many performances in renown venues such as Radio City Music Hall, Westbury Music Fair, Beacon Theater, Glen Island Casino, Claridge Casino, Trump Castle, Trump Plaza, Symphony Space, Theater of Living Arts in Philadelphia, Foxwoods Resort and Casino to name a few.

Global internet radio station whose contents are talk shows, comedy and independent music.  Now Director of WALXNY Iradio.

Jackie Nunez

Has joined Gotham Radio as of early 2011.  From a young age Jackie started in the music industry working alongside her father Jos  Maldonado drawing up contracts, bookings for community dances, events and nightclubs. In the late 1980’s Jackie pursued and interest in the recording industry and was employed at two major recording studios Variety Recording (owners Warren Smith and Fred Vargas) and Sound Ideas then bought out by the Latin entrepreneur Raul Alarcon who chartered the studio to Karen Records owner Bienvenido Rodriguez and the Latin sensation singer Juan Luis Guerra (440).  Jackie sold studio time assisted in editing sessions, booked musicians, assisted sound engineers and promoted the studio to acquire new business for both studios. In addition, Jackie Nunez focused on other projects and ventured into TV/Film production. Jackie freelanced for CNN and Spanish Radio writing commercial copy and news editing freelance while in attendance to the Center for the Media Arts in the late 80’s early 90’s for Radio Broadcasting and Television Production.  Traveled and road managed with many well known Latin and Jazz artist while working with Landy Soba Management.  She managed and worked with many artists from the Ralph Mercado Management. Such artists are Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Hector LaVoe, Jose Alberto, El Gran Combo, Eddie Palmieri, Eddie Santiago, Junior Gonzalez, Louie Ramirez, and many Latin greats.  Jackie managed Actors and she acquired auditions and parts for movies, theater performances and shows for singers and musicians with Susan Rybin at the Rybin Talent Agency. Jackie has casted many people for commercials, theatrical, movies and musical performances.  Jackie has also worked on jingles (commercials) and written commercial copy for :30 sec spots and :60 sec. spots for radio. Jackie has appeared as an extra on several movies and TV series such as Godzilla, and Law & Order.   

Jackie Nunez worked in Marketing and Advertising for Univision, WXTV Channel 41 in the Sales department as the Assistant Manager to the Director of New Business. There she created presentations with qualitative material to acquire new business for the station. She researched and sold to advertisers and created the concept of the importance of advertising in the Hispanic Market. Through research and obtaining the information on certain demographics was able to successfully deliver her concept and acquire the business for the station.  She produced and wrote shows for many radio show hosts.

Jackie later accepted an offer to become an Executive in Sales at Noticias 1380 AM station and then thereafter to Radio Unica, 1680 AM talk radio network station.  At both stations Jackie sold air time, wrote and produced news segments, commercial copy and promoted the stations in different Latin Markets. In Radio Unica, 1680 AM the she predominantly sold sports, Soccer.

Jackie Nunez emits diversity in music, production and marketing.  Latin, Jazz, RnB, Rock and Roll, Pop, Soul and Latin Soul. She is currently producing oldies shows every month at several venues.
