Female soloist or primary lead singer of a vocal group that had at least one Top 100 Chart Record or equivalent [1] between 1950 and 1979, as verified by the major trade magazines Billboard or Cash Box. Had to have sung lead on said chart record(s). [1] During certain years, some genre charts either didn’t exist or were limited to the Top 10 or Top 25. In those cases evidence of record sales, such as territorial charts can be used as an equivalent to chart position.
